Manager, Energy Geoscience, Geological Survey of Queensland
Peter joined the Geological Survey of Queensland as a Geologist in 1976 and was involved in regional geological mapping of Georgina and Clarence-Moreton basins. Later he became involved in basin analysis studies with the aim of better understanding the State’s petroleum potential.
In the late 1990s, Peter became involved in petroleum tenure administration and facilitation of the petroleum exploration. In late 2001, he was seconded to work on the new petroleum legislation.
In 2005, he was appointed as Manager, Exploration Strategies where one of his responsibilities was the coordination of the petroleum call for tender process for exploration tenure.
In January 2009, he returned to the Geological Survey of Queensland as Manger, Energy Geoscience with responsibility for petroleum, coal and geothermal energy.
Peter Green holds a Bachelor of Applied Science Degree in Geology from the University of Queensland and Master of Science from the University of Reading in the United Kingdom.
