Elinor graduated with a BSc (Hons) from the University of Adelaide and commenced as a geologist with the SA Department of Mines and Energy in 1985. She researched petroleum reservoir petrophysics and sedimentology of the Eromanga, Otway, Cooper, Stansbury and Arrowie basins in South Australia as well as broadening skills to market SA’s petroleum and geothermal energy potential. Elinor currently leads a skilled and enthusiastic team of 10 geologists, administrative and technical staff focussing on applied geoscientific research, investment attraction, geological data management and contributing to regulation of the petroleum and geothermal sectors. She is a past President of the SA Branch of the Petroleum Exploration Society of Australia and was awarded a PESA Meritorious Service Medal in 2001.
