General Manager, Eagle Ford, BHP Billiton
David Banks is the General Manager, Eagle Ford Asset in South Texas for BHP Billiton. In this role he is responsible for the development and operation of the Blackhawk and Hawkville fields. Prior to managing the Eagle Ford, David was the Integration Manager for BHP Billiton’s acquisition of Petrohawk, and Transition Manager for the acquisition of the Fayetteville assets. David has held the role of Vice President of Health, Safety and Environment for the Petroleum business. Throughout his career, he has held numerous operational and technical roles of increasing responsibility across a number of countries including Australia, Trinidad, Bolivia and Singapore. Prior to joining BHP Billiton in 1994, David worked in the oilfield services industry with Schlumberger and in the construction industry with Stephenson-EMF Consultants. David is a graduate of the University of Tasmania with an Honors degree in Civil & Mechanical Engineering and he also has a MBA from Deakin University.
